The Partnership Council area (Area 4) has a very large percentage of student and rented accomodation. While this brings in a wealth of young people who live, learn and enjoy life in our community it also raised issues around the effect such large numbers have on the local community.

One significant, and very visable, issue is cleansing. A large student population attracts fast food establishments and subsequently litter. Multiple occupation of houses hugely increases houshold waste. Rented accomodation also produces increased amounts of larger household rubbish particularly furniture during end of term clearouts.

Both landlords and student tenants have needs and responsibilities and we are keen to help and encourage them to meet these. The Partnership Council participates in a number of groups who are working to improve issues related to Landlords. With regard to students we try to help them stay informed.

Why not check out the "20 QUESTIONS" page. All these questions and answers apply to students who rent accomodation.

If you want something to help remind you there are also some posters here to print out and shove on the fridge door. Just download the posters and print them out
